Impredecible Basoa is a future autochthonous evergreen forest that we are planting collaboratively in Urdaibai, Bizkaia. Taking advantage of the planting process, we carry out workshops where we connect apparently distant topics: “auzolan”, ancient Basque animism and its relationship with trees and the Basque language, Pyrenean law based on forest management and its impact on Basque idiosyncrasy, the “baserri” (traditional country house) as an intercultural construction, contemporary plant neurobiology, the cooperative processes investigated by Lynn Margulis or Dora Haraway’s science fiction and more. We join unpredictable narratives and knowledge.
