Our interest in learning about the ideas of political self-representation and the reflection by elderly women on violence led us (together with Miren Jaio) to make extensive recordings of conversations in the Urdaibai área. We still preserve that records as a memory of that generation, now deceased. Accustomed to the social silence that prevailed in the post-war period, their loquacity and desire to share was a generous exercise in enunciation. For us, it was a revelation.
This short piece is part of a septet, seven short clips on violence that formed part of the project Arte y electricidad produced by Arteleku and coordinated by the Fundación Rodriguez where new ways of production and distribution of the materials generated by different artists were investigated using electronic tools. Arte y electricidad won a special mention in the cd_internet category at the Navarra audiovisual creation festival.
