Gure Artea Award

In 1994 the jury made up of Estrella de Diego, Joan Fontcuberta, Sara Gonzalez de Aspuru, Vicente Larrea and Gloria Picazo gave the Gure Artea Award to the Montesquiu installation (1991), which I made at QUAM, Quinzena de Montesquiu (Barcelona) in a workshop directed by Jordi Colomer. This award, organised by the Department of Culture of the Basque Government since 1982, has been adapted to different social, cultural and artistic scenarios from its beginnings to the present day.

Jordi Colomer challenged us to create a piece during the Quinzena (1991) that would dialogue with one of the spaces previously selected by him in the Castle, and, furthermore, that during the night of 30-31 July, the last night of the Quinzena, we would sleep in it.

I chose the Terrasa Sta. Teresa.
